CONCLUSIONS: CMP use for 14 days following chemotherapy infusion mitigated chemotherapy-associated OP and AU. The effect was seen over two cycles of treatment with known stomatotoxic agents having both short and long half-lives. The device was well tolerated.

CONCLUSION: Patients with an appendiceal diameter ≥15 mm and a body temperature >38°C may not be optimal candidates for non-operative treatment for uncomplicated acute appendicitis. Patients with CRP <100 mg/l at 24 h of antibiotic treatment for uncomplicated acute appendicitis have a 99% likelihood of successful antibiotic therapy.

CONCLUSION: The anti-inflammatory effects of isotretinoin in acne patients result from its ability to decrease serum levels of inflammatory cytokines (IL-8, IL-36, TNF-α, TSLP, and TWEAK).

CONCLUSIONS: Our findings highlight the potential of BALF-derived EVs as a biomarker source for predicting ICS responsiveness in COPD. The CST family, especially CST1, potentially serves as a valuable indicator for identifying patients who are more likely to benefit from ICS treatment.

CONCLUSIONS: Initiating dapagliflozin in patients hospitalized for acute COVID-19 was well tolerated and safe, irrespective of T2D status. Serum biomarker levels remained stable and comparable between treatment groups, indicating no increased risk of adverse metabolic or renal effects with dapagliflozin in this clinical scenario.

CONCLUSIONS: Bilateral iSLN block significantly reduces the incidence of retching and oropharyngeal mucosal bleeding, while improving patient comfort, increasing the rapid TEE probe insertion rate, and stabilizing MAP during TEE examination. This technique can significantly improve patient experience and safety during TEE procedures.

CONCLUSION: Dexamethasone did not significantly reduce cancer-associated fatigue or improve QOL in patients receiving palliative chemotherapy. The findings highlight the need to explore alternative, more effective interventions for managing fatigue in this population.

CONCLUSION: In patients with obesity or OSA, nasal mask oxygenation during gastroscopy with propofol sedation significantly reduced the incidences of hypoxemia, subclinical respiratory depression, and severe hypoxemia without increasing other adverse events.

Diffuse interstitial fibrosis is associated with adverse outcomes in hypertensive heart disease and may be reversible. Sacubitril/valsartan could offer greater anti-fibrotic effects than valsartan alone. In the REVERSE-LVH phase 2 open-labelled trial (clinicaltrials.gov NCT: 03553810; funded by the National Medical Research Council of Singapore), 78 patients with essential hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) were…

CONCLUSION: RME and AT significantly improved sleep-related respiratory parameters in patients with POSA. RME demonstrated comparable efficacy to AT in reducing AHI and improving LAST, MSAT, and REM sleep time. However, AT provided significantly better improvement in clinical symptoms and quality of life.
