Efficacy of direct adductor canal block in pain control and sparing opioid consumption after total knee arthroplasty: a randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSION: Intraoperative direct ACB demonstrated an opioid-sparing effect when combined with PAI. By performing ACB intraoperatively, no additional space, cost, or manpower was required, and patients did not need an additional catheter for pain control. Direct ACB is a simple and safe procedure that can facilitate recovery after TKA.

CONCLUSIONS: This process evaluation highlights the SUGAR Handshake’s potential for broader implementation and scale-up. By addressing identified barriers, future educational interventions may enhance adherence, improve patient outcomes, and advance hypoglycaemia management in diabetes care.

Evaluating the role of montelukast on doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity in breast cancer patients
CONCLUSION: The incorporation of ML into AC led to a substantial decrease in cardiac biomarkers confirming the feasibility of incorporating ML in individuals with breast cancer as an auxiliary treatment to prevent DOX-induced cardiotoxicity. Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT05959889.

Comparison of visual quality and optical zones after TransPRK, SMILE, and FS-LASIK myopia correction procedures

Hypotension prediction index smart alerts and trends to improve compliance with goal-directed hemodynamic therapy: a feasibility study
CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrated the potential for HPI Smart Alerts to improve compliance with an intraoperative GDHT algorithm in adults undergoing moderate to high-risk non-cardiac surgery. A low burden of intra-operative hypotension was observed, suggesting potential decreases in other associated adverse outcomes. Larger-scale randomized studies are warranted.
