Intranasal dexmedetomidine versus intranasal midazolam as a standard of care for pediatric patients undergoing transcatheter perimembranous ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure: a randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: Pediatric patients were successfully and effectively sedated with both intranasal dexmedetomidine and intranasal midazolam, with stable hemodynamics and oxygen saturation.

Clinical effect of Shugan Jieyu San for improving liver function and alleviating depression in patients with triple negative breast cancer
CONCLUSIONS: This TCM showed promising results in reducing depressive symptoms and improving daily abilities in patients with TNBC and comorbid depression, which was verified by the increase in serum levels of dopamine and serotonin, suggesting the potential involvement of these neurotransmitters in the therapeutic effects of this TCM.

Safety and efficacy of a novel intense pulsed light system in patients with meibomian gland dysfunction: a randomized, double-masked, intra-individual controlled study
CONCLUSION: To our knowledge this is the first prospective evaluation of a novel IPL device. There was a significant amelioration of subjective complaints and a tendency towards better expressibility in both study and control eyes. An intra-individual design might compound the individual analysis of either eyes in studies investigating IPL.

Preventing respiratory illness in cerebral palsy: Results of a pilot randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: RE-PACT is a feasible, acceptable intervention that can be delivered with high fidelity to diverse families caring for children with severe CP. These data inform the sample and design characteristics needed for efficacy testing of RE-PACT’s ability to prevent severe respiratory illness.

A Randomized Trial of Nutrition and Exercise Treatment in Patients With Pancreatic and Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NEXTAC-TWO)
CONCLUSIONS: The patients had good compliance with the 12-week NEXTAC program but failed to show significant improvements in disability-free survival as compared to observation alone. Further study on the progression of low muscle mass in the NEXTAC arm is needed.

The value of nanocarbon contrast methylene blue based on dye-based tracer technology in sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Nanocarbon versus methylene blue is a more satisfactory dye tracer for sentinel lymph node biopsy in breast cancer patients and should be considered a first-line diagnostic agent.

Nebulized dexmedetomidine prior to flexible bronchoscopy in reducing procedural cough episodes a randomized double blind clinical trial. (NCT: CTRI/2022/07/044389, NICOBAR group of investigators)
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that Nebulized dexmedetomidine has insignificant topical action to reduce cough episodes as compared to normal saline in diagnostic FOB, but systemic effects remain to be investigated.
