Background: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance use disorders frequently co-occur, with their comorbidity linked to poorer treatment outcomes. Beyond this epidemiological overlap, PTSD and, in particular, cocaine use disorder (CUD) have also been conceptually linked, as maladaptive memory processes are thought to play a central role in both of their etiopathogeneses. PTSD and CUD…

CONCLUSION: Electroacupuncture at Yifeng (TE17) and Fengchi (GB20) can effectively promote the recovery of voluntary movement in the middle and lower facial muscles of patients with moderate-to-severe peripheral facial paralysis in the acute stage, and improve their physical and social functions, demonstrating a high clinical application value.

CONCLUSION: For patients aged ≥ 50 years and 3 years post diagnosis, less-frequent mammograms were non-inferior and cost-effective compared with annual mammograms, with no detriment to patients’ quality of life. Mammo-50 provides evidence to inform guideline development.

Early, intensive dietary intervention may open a therapeutic window for type 2 diabetes (T2D) remission. We conducted a randomized, 2:1 crossover trial in 34 newly diagnosed overweight or obese patients with T2D. Participants were assigned to receive either high-fiber nutritional therapy (HFNT)-a 7-day very-low-calorie, high-fiber diet followed by a 23-day standard diabetes diet-or conventional diabetes…

CONCLUSIONS: The Truenat platform and TB assays were perceived as easy to use by health providers, and as acceptable and feasible across stakeholder groups. Its implementation in decentralised settings was considered a preferred alternative to off-site Xpert testing for TB in Mozambique and Tanzania.

CONCLUSION: In this phase II single-arm study, olaparib plus abiraterone and ADT showed preliminary activity and a manageable safety profile in patients with HRR-mutated mHSPC, but these findings need to be confirmed in larger phase III studies.

CONCLUSIONS: The regimen under investigation did not exhibit the anticipated statistical benefit in enhancing surgical conversion rates for BR-ESCC. Nevertheless, the treatment strategy of induction immunochemotherapy followed by surgery resulted in significant tumour downstaging and a significant pathological complete response rate. Patients who achieved R0 resection exhibited improved survival outcomes.

Asthma is a common chronic respiratory disease in children, often leading to acute exacerbations marked by dyspnea, cough, and wheezing, which frequently necessitate emergency medical care. While standard therapies are effective, the exploration of novel drug delivery routes continues. Oral montelukast is a recognized treatment, but the efficacy of its intranasal formulation for acute attacks…

CONCLUSION: Severity-graded exercise rehabilitation effectively improves diaphragmatic function and enhances endogenous antioxidant capacity in hospitalized AECOPD patients. The improvement in diaphragmatic excursion was significantly correlated with favorable changes in oxidative stress biomarkers, suggesting a potential physiological association. These findings support the efficacy of severity-graded rehabilitation but warrant further mechanistic studies.

CONCLUSION: Both pulse durations effectively reduced erythema, but 10 ms demonstrated more favorable tolerability.
