BACKGROUND: Running retraining is commonly used in the management of medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS) but evidence for its effectiveness is lacking. The primary aim of this study is to determine if the addition of running retraining to best standard care is beneficial in the management of runners with MTSS.
Currently, there are still many patients who require outpatient triage assistance. ChatGPT, a natural language processing tool powered by artificial intelligence technology, is increasingly utilized in medicine. To facilitate and expedite patients’ navigation to the appropriate department, we conducted an outpatient triage evaluation of ChatGPT. For this evaluation, we posed 30 highly representative and common…
BACKGROUND: The 15-method is a targeted screening and treatment approach for alcohol problems in primary care. The 15-method used in primary care has proven as effective as specialized treatment for mild to moderate alcohol dependence in Sweden. A feasibility study of the 15-method in Danish primary care found the method acceptable and feasible.
CONCLUSIONS: These findings provide evidence that a Food is Medicine intervention may buffer some of the adversity related to the diagnosis of lung cancer and create a pathway for participants to experience post-traumatic growth, develop resilience, and change behaviors to actively cope with lung cancer. Medically tailored meals plus intensive nutrition counseling informed by motivational…
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: The results of this randomized clinical trial suggest that EAET may be a preferred intervention for medically and psychiatrically complex patients with pain. The societal burden of chronic pain could be improved by further incorporating the principles of EAET into mainstream clinical pain medicine.
CONCLUSION: These results support the use of RPM in HF patients with diabetes.
INTRODUCTION: Primary dysmenorrhoea (PD) is a common menstrual concern with significant physical and psychosocial impacts. The effectiveness and safety of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) in alleviating PD symptoms remain uncertain due to insufficient evidence. This single-centre, parallel, randomised controlled study intends to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TEAS for PD management.
CONCLUSIONS: This randomized clinical trial will provide us with information about whether throat swabs including specimens from the palatine tonsils will improve the diagnostic sensitivity for SARS-CoV-2 molecular detection. These results can, therefore, be used to improve future testing recommendations and provide additional information about tissue tropism for SARS-CoV-2.
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: In this randomized clinical trial of 239 early postmenopausal women, supplementation with L reuteri had no effect on bone loss or bone turnover over 2 years. The observed interaction between BMI and treatment effect warrants further investigation.
CONCLUSION: Monitoring pain using the nociception level index is an effective method for detecting pain compared to standard pain scores utilized in critical care. Its guidance facilitates personalized analgesic titration. Additionally, the potential of nociception level index guidance to reduce the duration of intensive care and hospital stays may be linked to its effects on…
