How P&G Uses AI to Understand Human Behavior

Computer vision isn’t just for self-driving cars and robots. At Procter & Gamble, it’s helping researchers understand human behavior, generate synthetic data, and build 3D models of people, at a scale most labs can only dream of.

We’re excited to announce that Oya Aran, Director of R&D Data Science and AI at P&G, will be speaking in person at OSCCA, OpenCV’s Official Conference on Computer Vision & AI, on May 4th in Los Angeles.

Who Is Oya Aran?

Oya leads a team working across some of the most active and demanding areas in AI today: computer vision, synthetic data generation, 3D human modeling, large vision and language models, and robotics. What makes her perspective unusual is where she’s doing it. P&G isn’t a tech company in the traditional sense. It’s one of the largest consumer goods companies in the world, with brands used by billions of people every day. Getting serious AI research to work inside that environment, across multiple organizational units, at real product scale, is a different kind of challenge than most people in the field ever encounter.

Oya’s career spans both academic research and industry, and her work sits at that rare intersection: deep technical expertise applied to problems that actually ship. Her talk at OSCCA will offer a look at what that journey looks like in practice.

What to Expect from Her Talk

Oya will be speaking about her work in computer vision and AI at P&G, including how her team approaches human behavior understanding, synthetic data, and the practical realities of deploying advanced models across a large organization. If you’ve ever wondered what applied AI looks like beyond the benchmark leaderboard, this is the talk for you.

The Full OSCCA Lineup

Oya is one of six speakers at OSCCA on May 4. She’ll be joined by:

  • Gary Bradski, founder of OpenCV
  • Doug Fidaleo, Director of Disney Research Imagineering
  • Shawn Frayne, CEO of Looking Glass Factory
  • Matt Flagg, Chief Science Officer of Code 19 Racing
  • Glenn Jocher, Founder and CEO of Ultralytics (via exclusive pre-recorded talk, screened at the networking lunch)
  • A panel discussion on the future of AI & CV from our speakers

A full day of computer vision and AI from people who are actually building it.

A Bonus: Free Access to Display Week

OSCCA is part of Display Week 2026, the world’s leading display technology conference, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Your OSCCA ticket includes free passes to the Display Week Exhibition Hall (May 5-7), including the AI Pavilion, a dedicated section of the exhibition floor spotlighting the companies and technologies shaping the future of AI. With 200+ exhibitors and 7,000+ attendees from across the display, imaging, and tech industries, it’s a lot of extra value on top of an already packed day.
