We developed a composite symptom score (CSS) representing disease-related symptom burden over time in patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM). Longitudinal data were collected from an open-label Phase IIB study in which 239 patients completed the validated MD Anderson Symptom Inventory for MPM (MDASI-MPM). A blinded, independent review committee of external patient-reported outcomes experts advised…
BACKGROUND: The mainstay of treatment for early-stage follicular lymphoma is local radiotherapy, with a possible role for anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody (mAb). We aimed to evaluate the effect of these treatments using a measurable residual disease (MRD)-driven approach.
CONCLUSION: Ulixertinib, a novel targeted agent with no previous pediatric data, was successfully evaluated in a national precision medicine basket trial. The pediatric RP2D of ulixertinib is 260 mg/m²/dose orally twice a day. Limited single-agent efficacy was observed in a biomarker-selected cohort of refractory pediatric tumors.
CONCLUSION: The study confirmed the high effectiveness of eccentric muscular loads in the rehabilitation of patients after upper limb injuries. The method has shown significant improvement in clinical and functional indices, which allows to recommend it for inclusion in standard rehabilitation protocols. Further researches may extend application of this approach and reveal the TE effectiveness…
CONCLUSION: It was seen that the probiotic bacteria remained viable in the periodontal pocket for up to 8 days after placement, but stable improvements were seen in all clinical parameters even at 12 weeks, indicating its prolonged efficacy. Thus, commercially available probiotics can prove to be an inexpensive method to treat periodontitis when combined with…
Background and Objectives: Coadministration of natural products to enhance the potency of conventional antirheumatic treatment is of high interest. This study aimed to assess the impact of administration of silymarin (a nutritional supplement) in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis under treatment with conventional disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs. Materials and Methods: One-hundred and twenty-two patients diagnosed with…
Training interoceptive sensitivity (IS) might be a first step in effectively promoting intuitive eating (IE). A dyadic interoception-based pilot randomized controlled trial was conducted to increase IE among couples aged 50+. The training consisted of three exercises, a Body Scan (BS), a hunger exercise (HU), and a satiety (SA) exercise. This study explored how spouses…
INTRODUCTION: Falls and fall-related injuries in community-dwelling older adults are a growing global health concern. Despite effective exercise-based fall prevention programs (FPPs), low enrollment rates persist due to negative connotations associated with falls and aging. This study aimed to investigate whether positive framing in communication leads to a higher intention to participate in an FPP…
CONCLUSIONS: The study did not provide evidence that low-dose colchicine could reduce the risk of subsequent stroke within 90 days as compared with placebo among patients with acute non-cardioembolic minor-to-moderate ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic attack and a high sensitivity C-reactive protein ≥2 mg/L.
INTRODUCTION: Insomnia is a common health problem and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is recommended as a treatment. As there is a critical shortage of CBT-trained therapists, we developed a digital CBT application (IIIP MED: Sleepy Med) as Software as a Medical Device for insomnia. This paper describes the study protocol for an exploratory randomised controlled trial…
