Methods: This study was a prospective, single-arm, multicenter phase Ⅱ clinical study. Sixty-seven high-risk NB children from eight units of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun…
Venous thromboembolism is a serious safety concern in women using combined oral contraceptives; ethinyl estradiol (EE) is widely used as an estrogen. Estetrol (E4) is a native estrogen with selective tissue activity and exclusively produced by the fetal liver. This study used a multicenter, randomized, open-label, active-controlled, parallel-group design to evaluate the effects of E4…
BACKGROUND: This study uses a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to test the health benefits of expressive writing that is culturally adapted for Chinese immigrant breast cancer survivors (BCSs) and to characterize how acculturation moderates the effects of expressive writing interventions.
Ulnar neuropathy at the elbow (UNE) is the second most common entrapment neuropathy and presents with symptoms such as pain, paresthesia, and weakness in the elbow. Provocative tests and electrophysiological examinations are helpful in the diagnosis of UNE. Low-level laser therapy is one of the conservative treatments of UNE however, limited results were reported on…
INTRODUCTION: Chronic low-grade inflammation might contribute to hyperandrogenemia and metabolic complications in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The proinflammatory cytokine interleukin (IL)-1 stimulates androgen production from ovarian cells, whereas blockade of the IL-1 pathway improves cardiometabolic health. We aimed to investigate whether blocking the IL-1 pathway ameliorates hyperandrogenemia in patients with PCOS.
CONCLUSIONS: In this short-term trial, tulisokibart was more effective than placebo in inducing clinical remission in patients with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis. (Funded by Prometheus Biosciences, a subsidiary of Merck; ARTEMIS-UC ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04996797.).
CONCLUSION: An increase in HB, and a decrease in WBC count, M/L, N/L, and P/L ratio is possible at the end of TB treatment and future studies to correlate blood hematology parameters with TB treatment outcome.
CONCLUSIONS: In this trial, omitting biopsy in patients with negative MRI results eliminated more than half of diagnoses of clinically insignificant prostate cancer, and the associated risk of having incurable cancer diagnosed at screening or as interval cancer was very low. (Funded by Karin and Christer Johansson’s Foundation and others; GÖTEBORG-2 ISRCTN registry number, ISRCTN94604465.).
CONCLUSIONS/APPLICATIONS: Our case series suggests superior pain control by adding Buprenorphine prior to opioid dose escalation during BMT for SCD. Buprenorphine may provide the advantageous effect for other patients with complex pain background and experiencing difficult pain management during BMT due to pre-existing hyperalgesia and high opioid-tolerance. The evidence for buprenorphine’s analgesic effect is moderate…
CONCLUSIONS: In this study, we could not identify any specific iCBT components that were effective in preventing depression or the acquisition of CBT skills over the 12-month follow-up period, but all participants with and without intervention of each iCBT component demonstrated significant improvements in depressive and anxiety symptoms. Further research is needed to explore the…
