CONCLUSIONS: This screening programme was feasible with the reinforcement of the underpinning enablers. Several implementation strategies were identified using SWOT analysis, including leveraging the opportunity for GPs to introduce this screening programme to at-risk patients.
CONCLUSIONS: N+AVD resulted in longer progression-free survival than BV+AVD in adolescents and adults with stage III or IV advanced-stage classic Hodgkin’s lymphoma and had a better side-effect profile. (Funded by the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health and others; S1826 ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT03907488.).
CONCLUSION AND RELEVANCE: In this randomized clinical trial of patients undergoing transfemoral TAVI, the upper-extremity approach for secondary access was associated with less clinically relevant access site-related bleeding compared with the conventional lower-extremity approach and should be considered to reduce periprocedural bleeding complications.
CONCLUSION: Medical glue demonstrates effectiveness in halting fluid extravasation at needle insertion sites among patients experiencing severe edema. Additionally, it reduces the duration of exudation, diminishes skin complications resulting from exudation, and significantly enhances patient satisfaction with nursing care. Given these benefits, its clinical adoption and application are highly recommended.
Fat-binding nutraceutical supplements have gained considerable attention as potential cholesterol-lowering strategies to address dyslipidemia in overweight and obese individuals. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a polysaccharide-rich compound containing β-glucan/chitin-chitosan (βGluCnCs) on lipid profiles and lipoprotein function. In a prospective, two-arm clinical trial, 58 overweight and obese individuals were randomized to receive either…
CONCLUSIONS: The results support contentions that dietary supplementation of 2′-FL (3 g/d) can promote fat loss and improve exercise- and diet-related markers of health and fitness in overweight sedentary individuals initiating an exercise and weight-loss program. Further research is needed to explore the potential health benefits of 2′-FL supplementation in both healthy and elderly individuals…
Background: Coffee consumption is inversely associated with type 2 diabetes. Cafestol, a bioactive compound in coffee, has demonstrated glucose-lowering and insulin-secretory properties in cell and animal studies. The acute effects of cafestol on glucose metabolism in humans have only been briefly investigated, and longer-term effects have not been explored. This study aimed to assess the…
Zinc plays a crucial role in cell structure and functionality. Neurodegenerative Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) alters muscle membrane structure, leading to a loss of muscle mass and strength. The objective of this study was to evaluate the changes in phase angle (PA) and bioelectrical impedance vector analysis (BIVA) results in patients with DMD after oral…
CONCLUSION: It is expected that encouraging studies on the impact of a mobile application will improve and enhance health education focused on self-care for older adults with DM 2, potentially influencing the local health system by reducing hospitalizations due to conditions that are sensitive to primary care, since health promotion and prevention of DM-related illnesses…
CONCLUSION: Presepsin may be a usable indicator in predicting the level of inflammation. At the end of the one-year follow-up of pulpotomy treatment, more pathology was observed in the NeoMTA and Biodentine groups, where biomarker levels were higher, while no pathology was found in the MTA group, where biomarker levels were lower.
