For decades, the hologram was a promise. A thing of science fiction. Something always just around the corner.
Shawn Frayne decided to stop waiting.
As co-founder and CEO of Looking Glass Factory, Shawn has spent over 20 years building toward a holographic future that doesn’t require a headset, a darkened room, or a suspension of disbelief. Today, Looking Glass displays let groups of people view and interact with genuine 3D holographic content, no glasses, no headgear, nothing between you and the image. And on May 4th in Los Angeles, Shawn will be speaking in person at OSCCA, OpenCV’s Official Conference on Computer Vision & AI.
A graduate of MIT with dozens of patents to his name, Shawn has been recognized by Popular Mechanics with their Breakthrough Award and named one of Discover Magazine’s 20 Best Brains Under 40. What makes his OSCCA talk unmissable isn’t just his legit credentials, but also the technology. Looking Glass is building something that sits right at the intersection of computer vision, AI, and display innovation, and Shawn is one of the most compelling people in the world at explaining where it’s all headed. We’re honored to have him with us at OSCCA.
He’ll be joined in person by OpenCV founder Gary Bradski, Disney Research Imagineering’s Doug Fidaleo, P&G’s Oya Aran, Code 19 Racing’s Matt Flagg, and Ultralytics CEO Glenn Jocher via exclusive pre-recorded talk. A full day of computer vision and AI from people building things that didn’t exist five years ago.
Your OSCCA ticket also includes free passes to the Display Week Exhibition Hall (May 5-7), including the AI Pavilion, a dedicated section of the exhibition floor spotlighting the companies and technologies shaping the future of AI. With 200+ exhibitors and 7,000+ attendees from across the display, imaging, and tech industries, it’s a fitting backdrop for a talk about the future of how we see things.
